Your Wants Are Valid - You Don’t Need To Justify Them

Living authentically is about embracing who you truly are, making choices that align with your values, and not feeling the need to justify those choices to others. It's a journey towards self-discovery and personal freedom, a path that allows you to live a life that feels true to you.
A coach I once studied under always said, “Your wants are just your wants.” You don’t have to explain them, and you certainly don’t need anyone’s permission. You want what you want, and that’s enough.
For example, in my matchmaking journey, I realized I want a long-term relationship that leads to marriage. I know that might sound old-fashioned, and sometimes when people question it, I feel defensive—like I should want something more modern, or that I might miss out on a great relationship with someone who doesn’t want marriage. But here’s the truth: after a lifetime of sacrificing my wants for someone else’s, I’m done compromising on what matters most to me. If marriage is what I want, then that’s what I’ll hold out for. Anything less simply isn’t right for me.
So, no more apologizing. No more shrinking my desires to fit someone else’s expectations. My wants are mine, and they don’t need explaining.

Try this ONE thing
Are you sacrificing your wants for someone else’s idea of what you “should” want? You don’t have to. Double down on what you want and let that be enough.
