You Don't Have To Figure It All Out Alone

I see it in my leadership classes: the joy of talking to others and realizing you are not alone. We come together to learn about leadership, but something just as important happens in the conversation. People discover that the questions they’ve been carrying are not theirs alone.

That’s the part I love. Not just sharing ideas but finding connection. The details of our experiences may be different, yet there is comfort in recognizing something of ourselves in someone else’s story.

Sometimes I think we put too much pressure on ourselves to have everything figured out before we speak. But what if the conversation is where we begin to figure it out? What if we don’t need another answer quite as much as we need someone who understands the question?

Talking doesn’t make every challenge disappear. But knowing we don’t have to face it alone matters. That sense of belonging isn’t a small extra. To me, it’s at the heart of what people need.

Try this ONE thing

This week, invite ONE person you trust into a real conversation. Share a leadership question you’ve been thinking about and make room to hear theirs. You don’t need to arrive with the answers. Start with connection. Who will you reach out to?
