The Accidental Chef: My Journey To A Perfect Turkey Dinner

My story has always been, I don’t cook. I do a heck of a job cleaning up, but don’t count on me to make the food.

Now that I’m the last woman standing in my family, it does fall to me to make the big family dinners and set a good example for the rest. I kind of relish my role as the matriarch, though I took it on reluctantly.

It’s been a couple of years and I’ve gradually gotten better. For this year’s Christmas dinner, I’m delighted to say that everything turned out perfectly, nothing was forgotten and everyone raved about it.

Even the gifts I received were centered around cooking: a crockpot, an electric emulsion blender and whisk. What!? Who is this woman? I almost don’t recognize myself, and if my mom and my sister could see me now, they wouldn’t believe it.

Try this ONE thing

It’s a cliché but it truly is never too late to learn something new. All it takes is a little effort, a little belief in self and a desire to grow.

What will you learn today?

Want to experience coaching? I like to start with a deep, get-to-know-you conversation to see if we are right for each other. Sometimes we talk for one or two hours at no charge. I have no goal except to bring about transformation. Together we work on the lies, the self-deception, the fears of the power you perceive to be outside yourself. We work on your on your difficulties in making decisions and your inability thus far to make bold choices in life and to follow through and trust yourself completely to do so.

The irony for some people is that the very thing that they want the coaching for (an indecisive, half-hearted life) is what’s keeping them from deciding whether to get coaching.
