Stand Still, Look Around, Count Your Successes And Breathe It All In

Occasionally, I notice something in my life that I love. And it catches me off guard because I realize I’ve been taking it for granted. I’ve forgotten all the effort I spent to achieve it. I’ve forgotten how beautiful it is. I’ve forgotten how happy I was when I got it.

As I decorate my Christmas tree each year, sometimes it feels like a chore. Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth all the trouble. But then I start unwrapping all the ornaments and I delight in their beauty, in the memory of when I got it and how pretty it all looks once I’m done.

So, this year I’m making a habit of deliberately taking a few moments of stillness to just sit and admire it. My heart fills with appreciation and gratitude. I think of the days before I had such a tree, of the days when I couldn’t afford such a tree, of my younger days when I could only dream of such a tree.

Of course, it’s not just the Christmas tree. As I start my holiday break from work, I purposely reflect on all the great things that happened this year and what I am looking forward to for next year.

Same goes for every good thing, every success in your life. Pause and appreciate.

Try this ONE thing

While it’s easy to see everything that’s wrong or disappointing in your life, you’ll feel so much lighter and happier if you breathe in all your successes.

Want to experience coaching? I like to start with a deep, get-to-know-you conversation to see if we are right for each other. Sometimes we talk for one or two hours at no charge. I have no goal except to bring about transformation. Together we work on the lies, the self-deception, the fears of the power you perceive to be outside yourself. We work on your on your difficulties in making decisions and your inability thus far to make bold choices in life and to follow through and trust yourself completely to do so.

The irony for some people is that the very thing that they want the coaching for (an indecisive, half-hearted life) is what’s keeping them from deciding whether to get coaching.
