My Favourite Thing About This Is….

A friend introduced me to Reality Transurfing, a metaphysical and self-development philosophy that suggests we can shape our experience of life by how we direct our thoughts, intentions, and actions.
That may sound like a mouthful, but to me it comes down to one simple thing: choice. Specifically, the choice of what we notice when we look in the mirror, at our lives, or at the world around us.
Of course, that isn’t always easy. Reality has a way of interrupting us and pulling our attention toward what feels hard, missing, irritating, or painful. Before we know it, we’re dwelling on exactly what we wish were different.
One small way to shift that is to interrupt the habit and deliberately look for what is still good, still working, still worthy of appreciation. I love this sentence stem for that: My favourite thing about this is… Finish it with whatever feels true and life-giving in the moment.
For example: My favourite thing about this time of life is the absence of stress and the abundance of fond memories. That one sentence immediately softens something in me. It reminds me that even in an imperfect season, there is beauty here.
Maybe that’s the real practice: not denying reality but training ourselves to see more of it. Not just the hard parts, but the lovely parts too. Not just what’s missing, but what’s already here.

Try this ONE thing
Today, choose one situation, one season, or one part of yourself and complete this sentence: My favourite thing about this is… Don’t overthink it. Just notice what feels good, true, or comforting. Then see if that one thought shifts the way you feel.
I’d love to know what your sentence becomes.
