I Love A Good Belly Laugh, Why Don't I Do It More?

One of the unexpected gifts of my week in Provence was connection. With no agenda, I found myself lingering in conversation with new friends. On day one, I wondered what would be the private, running jokes this group would have.
There’s nothing I love more than a running joke or just something that makes me laugh out loud. And I laughed so much during this week. As I reflect, I am picturing myself doubled over, giggling. Ron, with his dry wit and even drier delivery, kept me coming back for more. Daniel, in a French exercise, introduced me by saying, ‘elle a les dents’, (‘I have teeth’). I’m sure he would’ve added an adjective if we’d learned them, but it still makes me giggle when I think of it. Or the time he thought I’d demanded he tell me what he liked about me. I think I was actually asking what he’d like to do for dinner.
There was the dog of the chateau who came running when we sat down to take a group picture. Apparently, he needs to be in all group pictures taken at the chateau.
A laugh that keeps on giving; those are the best.
So why did it take a vacation for me to find my funny bone again? Why am I not laughing like that so much anymore. Perhaps because I work alone at home so there’s no one to get up to hijinx with. Hmm, it seems I’ll have to work a little harder at this.

Try this ONE thing
If you’re not laughing as much as you could, see if there’s something you can do to up your laughter quotient.
Want to experience coaching? I like to start with a deep, get-to-know-you conversation to see if we are right for each other. Sometimes we talk for one or two hours at no charge. I have no goal except to bring about transformation. Together we work on the lies, the self-deception, the fears of the power you perceive to be outside yourself. We work on your on your difficulties in making decisions and your inability thus far to make bold choices in life and to follow through and trust yourself completely to do so.
The irony for some people is that the very thing that they want the coaching for (an indecisive, half-hearted life) is what’s keeping them from deciding whether to get coaching.
