My boss is moving on and we on the team are heartbroken. We love her and we know she is going on to better things, so we are happy for that.
What’s heartbreaking is that she never felt the support of her colleagues, so things felt hard all the time. Our leadership programs were some of the best I’ve experienced, and it was her who brought them to the company.
So, while I’m very sad that she’s leaving, I know that we owe it to ourselves to go where we are loved and appreciated.
You see, we forget sometimes who we are, and we can buy into a lower view of ourselves if we don’t surround ourselves with those people who are our fans, who really get us.
My sister gave me this decorative box that had these words inscribed on it: ‘my friend knows the song in my heart…and sings it to me when I forget the words’.
Try this ONE thing
Who knows the song in your heart? Are you keeping them close? They really are the key to you being you, to you being your best self. And the world needs your best self.
Hey! Are you already successful and accomplished? Do you have many things to appreciate about your life right now? Are you always open to learning more and growing yourself?
Despite all your successes, do you sometimes doubt yourself? Do you hesitate to go after what you really want in life?
Or maybe you dismiss your past successes, putting them down to luck, and don’t really see how extraordinary you really are?
If this sounds like you, you and I should have a conversation. Drop me a line here, karen.laidlaw.theONEthing@outlook.com, and let’s talk!
