Like feeling a summer breeze on your face. Like getting a ton of dog love. Like noticing the stunning beauty of nature. Like watching a boat go through a lock on a river.
It’s all about noticing.
Are you rushing around from the moment you wake until you fall into bed at night? As you cross things off your ‘to do’ list, do you ever wonder what you might be missing?
I remember one manager who wouldn’t answer my question first thing in the morning, until we’d exchanged some good morning pleasantries. A coach, on noticing my hurried walk down a hotel hallway, purposely slowed down and waited until I noticed. ‘There’s enough time, we don’t have to race’, was all she said.
And she was right…there is enough time to slow down and notice what’s around you. Who knows what you’ve been missing!
Try this ONE thing
Not sure how to start? Start small by breathing down into your belly and watch your heart rate slow down. And then look around you at all the beauty and wonder there is.
Or just keep doing that shallow, chaotic, panicked breathing and miss out.
