A Thump On The Head To Someone Who Sent Me On A Downward Spiral

I was thinking the other day about how I went from someone who was thin and never spent any time thinking about or worrying about my weight to spending the last 30+ years too obsessed about it.
I had my son when I was 32 years old after three failed pregnancies. This fourth pregnancy was hard on me and quite scary but finally we welcomed my beautiful healthy baby boy, Russell.
Like most women, I struggled to lose the pregnancy weight afterwards, but I finally got down to 132 pounds, not my pre-pregnancy weight but getting there.
No thanks to my husband. His criticism, negative digs and disdainful looks had me feeling so bad about myself and how I looked. And thus began the journey of yo-yo dieting that has dogged me ever since.
His careless attitude was not love. Luckily I figured that out and left him, but I still carried the damage from his lack of love. I didn’t realize it until I spent some time wondering where my struggles with weight started.
It’s time to let that go, forgive him for the hurt and take back my power. Not that it’s about revenge, 😊, but what’s that saying, ‘living well is the best revenge’? That seems like a great reframe.

Try this ONE thing
Nobody gets to exert power over me or you. What do you need to do to release that power someone might have over you?
Want to experience coaching? I like to start with a deep, get-to-know-you conversation to see if we are right for each other. Sometimes we talk for one or two hours at no charge. I have no goal except to bring about transformation. Together we work on the lies, the self-deception, the fears of the power you perceive to be outside yourself. We work on your difficulties in making decisions and your inability thus far to make bold choices in life and to follow through and trust yourself completely to do so.
The irony for some people is that the very thing that they want the coaching for (an indecisive, half-hearted life) is what’s keeping them from deciding whether to get coaching.
