When making a change in your life, it’s a good idea to consider your motivation for the change.
I have a few colleagues who are looking to change jobs. Some are doing it to escape a bad manager, annoying colleagues, or boredom. Some are looking to use their talents differently or want to try their hand at something new. Guess which ones are likely to find the right next thing.

That’s right. The ones who are running towards something new and different. Why? Because their motivation is to create something better for themselves. Often they’re not unhappy in their current job; they just feel pulled in a new direction.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t look or a new job if you’re unhappy where you are. Of course you should! I’m just saying that if your energy is focussed on running from something bad, you might not have the clarity to make the right decision. And you might end up running from that bad decision a few months down the road.
Try this ONE thing
Look for something better, you should do that. Just take your time to make sure your focus is on running towards something better, versus running away from something bad.
Hey! Are you already successful and accomplished? Do you have many things to appreciate about your life right now? Are you always open to learning more and growing yourself?
Despite all your successes, do you sometimes doubt yourself? Do you hesitate to go after what you really want in life?
Or maybe you dismiss your past successes, putting them down to luck, and don’t really see how extraordinary you really are?
If this sounds like you, you and I should have a conversation. Drop me a line here, karen.laidlaw.theONEthing@outlook.com, and let’s talk!
